MAGELLAN AND LIFECARE INTRODUCE INTEGRATED WORK-LIFE SERVICES AND EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Expanded program adds services to assist working professionals with life's challenges and increases workplace productivity for employers
Helping employees balance both professional priorities and other life demands outside of work can be a difficult challenge for employers, which impacts both productivity and employee satisfaction. To help employers better address this issue, Magellan Health Services, Inc., (NASDAQ: MGLN) has launched an integrated program with LifeCare, Inc., a global leader in work/life productivity solutions, to deliver streamlined, best-in-class services that complement Magellan's Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
With Magellan's enhanced approach, one phone call connects employees to a work/life productivity solutions specialist who will offer expert guidance and personalized matching to a full array of life management services including regular child and adult care, backup care, education resources, retirement planning, personal or family counseling, special needs services and more. LifeCare specialists spend an average of two to three hours per request researching information, saving employees time and money and helping to provide a match with high-quality solutions and providers.
"Personal issues have a tremendous impact on performance and productivity in the workplace, which can translate into absenteeism, declining work quality, conflicts and turnover and result in higher costs for employers," explained Christina Hause, senior vice president for sales and product development for Magellan's commercial behavioral health group. "Magellan's solution provides a single resource to resolve these everyday challenges, and we're proud to partner with LifeCare to provide the highest quality of service and expertise to those entrusted to our care."
A wide range of expanded work/life services has been integrated with a traditional Employee Assistance Program, helping members with life events and challenges. They include:
- An expanded nationwide database of providers and resources that help meet diverse member needs
- An industry leading, employer-sponsored emergency backup care product, offering broad employee-driven choice
- Personalized, prescreened referrals to resources with confirmed openings
