Magellan Health Services Announces Daniel M. Parietti as CEO of AlphaCare
AVON, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Magellan Health Services Inc. (NASDAQ: MGLN) today announced that Daniel M. Parietti has been selected as the chief executive officer of AlphaCare, a Medicaid Managed Long Term Care HMO and Medicare Plan focused on serving the unique needs of New York's long-term care and dual eligible populations. Parietti, who begins today, will report to Scott Markovich, president of Magellan Complete Care, which provides integrated programs across all aspects of specialty healthcare, including complex care management for special populations. In December, Magellan completed its strategic investment in AlphaCare, and now owns 65 percent of the company.

Parietti joins AlphaCare from Centene Inc., where he had executive leadership and profit and loss responsibility for health plans in seven states. He specifically oversaw Medicaid, Medicare, dual eligibles and long term care products with annual revenue exceeding $2.2 billion. Prior to joining Centene, Parietti served as president of WellCare's North Division, operating plans in New York, Ohio, New Jersey, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana and Missouri. Prior to joining WellCare, Parietti served as chief operating officer for La Cruz Azul de Puerto Rico, a 500,000-member health plan with commercial and Medicaid membership. Previously, as a vice president at Health Net, Parietti served on the team responsible for building and maintaining the national health care delivery system for a managed care company with over 5 million members. Parietti has also served in several local market roles for Humana. Parietti is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and holds an MBA from George Mason University.
